authority of God’s word

Father, we affirm and declare this promise over our lives, over Tunisia, and over this world today: “All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For kingship belongs to the Lord, and He rules over the nations” (Psalm 22:27-28).

soul rest

“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3). Souls satisfied and You, Lord, glorified—I rejoice in Your incredible plan of personal redemption. Thank You, Father.

life among the nations

As many Tunisian young people seek work opportunities outside of their country, lead them to new friends and families filled with Your Holy Spirit where they can experience Your grace and hear of Your love in Jesus Christ.

have no fear

"Leila" rejected Islam but was afraid to seek answers to her questions about Christ. Then Jesus appeared to her in a dream, which gave her courage to read the New Testament. After meeting with another believer, she overcome her fear and put her trust and faith in Christ. Pray for her roots to go deep in Him and that she will reach out to others.

every family blessed

“Remember His covenant forever…” (1 Chronicles 16:15). This verse refers to God’s promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and it specifically notes the promise of land. But we must also remember that this very same covenant included that all families of the earth would be blessed through them. Father, may all of us, including our Tunisian brothers and sisters, always remember Your global covenant with the patriarchs fulfilled in Jesus.

understanding His gifts

“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God” (1 Corinthians 2:12). Mighty God, bless Your children in Tunisia with this divine insight to know what You have given them in Jesus. By Your Spirit in them, let the eyes of their hearts see with increasing clarity the wonder of Your grace.

The red Tunisian flag has a white crescent moon on it, a symbol of Islam. Despite a deep-rooted Islamic history, let’s agree together today that the new Tunisian constitution will allow for greater religious freedom, creating waves of spiritual inquiry and preparing the soil of human hearts for revival.

Monday 16 April 2012

pray for the constitution

(This week we want to focus our prayers toward the rewriting of Tunisia's constitution.)
Jesus called out to his disciples, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the Kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14). Lord God, we think of the little ones of Tunisia today. For their sake and for the glory of Your name we pray that the new Tunisian constitution will not hinder any from coming to You.

unshakable promise

One of our favorite reasons to honor You, Father, is that You have given us a covenant and an identity that is certain and complete. What an awesome wonder to know that we are safe with You and that Your mission will never fail! Today we praise You as we remember Jesus’ glorious words: “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). Hallelujah and Amen!

ready to spring

Spring is a time when fresh images of life are seen in the natural world. Lord God, we ask that as You have been working below the surface in previous months to reveal the physical flowers and fruits of today that You would work in the hearts of Tunisians today to bring about spiritual life and fruit in the months to come.

martyr’s day

Today is Martyrs’ Day in Tunisia, which commemorates the deaths of over 20 Tunisians in a pre-Independence fight for freedom from France in 1938. Certainly they remember those who died in the revolution of 2011 as well. Lord, raise up humble followers of Christ in Tunisia who will be willing to lay down their lives for the eternal freedom of their countrymen. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Alert: Special Request

We ask for special partnership in prayer today regarding a TV show that has been produced about the local church. It is set to air tonight (Friday), and then show again every day next week. Many have taken risks to share their testimonies, and we do not know the intent of the producers. Father, we pray that this show will unite Christians, strengthen their faith, and reveal to multitudes that they do indeed have a choice in their religion.

what a day

Today we remember the most significant day in the history of the world—the day that Jesus gave His life for people from every tribe and tongue and nation. We declare to Tunisia, to all peoples, and to the heavenly hosts: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29).

Wednesday 4 April 2012

spring to life

As the climate transitions into Spring, let’s join the cries of creation that our God restores, redeems, and brings new life. Father, as trees bud and flowers bloom, may Tunisian Christians have a fresh hunger for Your Word and for fellowship with You.

Tuesday 3 April 2012

vision

Lord, put a deep, personal and corporate desire in the heart of Your Tunisian church to grow in every way.

Monday 2 April 2012

from every corner

“Oh gives thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the south and from the north” (Psalm 107:1-3). Father, we pray that there would be rejoicing from the lips of those from all parts of Tunisia—east, west, north, and south—whom You have redeemed!
