all > some

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, ...” (Matthew 28:19). Father, give Your Tunisian children an obedient passion to see all nations, not just some nations, worship You in spirit and in truth.

refuge

“O my Strength, I will sing praises to You, for You, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love” (Psalm 59:17). Beyond any circumstance or enemy, O Lord, we worship You as the strength and fortress of our Tunisian brothers and sisters today!

Friday 28 June 2013

foreigners

As there are expatriate residents and tourists in Tunisia who are Christians, especially in the summertime, we ask, Lord, that You would encourage and empower these men, women, and children to learn the language and culture of Tunisia so that they can faithfully communicate Your good news to nationals.

elections

Democratic elections were held in Tunisia in October of 2011 to determine leaders responsible for rewriting the nation's constitution. Official elections under the new government were originally to be held one year later. With slow progress on the draft constitution, proposed election dates have been changed again and again. The most recent projected date is late October 2013. Continue to pray for Tunisia's government in this most significant season of change.

churches planting churches

As more house groups of seekers and believers come together in Tunisia, give them a vision from the start to see similar groups begun throughout the country. Move them to strategically pray and act to see one, two, three more groups started themselves.

Monday 24 June 2013

disciples > converts

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, ...” (Matthew 28:19). Father, give Your Tunisian children an obedient passion to see their countrymen follow and obey Jesus and not just claim to be Christians or churchgoers.

opportunity

Following the revolution that sparked the Arab Spring, many in the world viewed Tunisia as a country with great potential for political and social success. Though much is still very uncertain, we thank You, Lord, for “such a time as this” in Tunisia (Esther 4:14). Empower Your church with boldness to bring about true spiritual success for Your name’s sake. Praise be to You, O God.

Friday 21 June 2013

vision

Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. ... As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you” (John 10:10; 20:21). Lord, may present and future shepherds of Your Tunisian flock always have a vision and passion for Your people to know the abundant life that You came to give.

Wednesday 19 June 2013

Bessma

Bessma developed many questions about Islam and with time found that no one could answer them. Through the internet she met a Tunisian Christian who shared the gospel with her and invited her to a church group. She found all of her questions answered and her heart freed. She put her faith in Christ and was baptized and later helped lead another young man to the group and to Christ. He was healed of an illness and later baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Pray for those who will be reached by Besma and those like her.

Tuesday 18 June 2013

abundant evangelism

Fear is perhaps the single greatest hindrance to personal evangelism in Tunisia. Lord, stir an intimacy with You, a conviction of faith, and a genuine love for family and friends that would open the lips of Your children to share the truth with those closest to them.

Monday 17 June 2013

go > come

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, ...” (Matthew 28:19). Father, give Your Tunisian children an obedient passion to “go” with Your gospel and not just wait for others to come to them.

Saturday 15 June 2013

Fathers’ Day

Though not celebrated in Tunisia, tomorrow (June 16) is recognized as Father’s Day in many countries throughout the world. Father in Heaven, we rejoice in Jesus Christ that we can know You as “Abba” (Daddy) Father and that many Tunisians have come to know You like this as well.

Friday 14 June 2013

people of peace

“And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you” (Luke 10:6). Lord God, we agree together today that You would reveal many “sons of peace” in Tunisia, men and women through whom Your truth in Christ would enter and spread throughout communities.

Wednesday 12 June 2013

mufti

The Mufti of Tunisia, Othman Battikh, the countries highest religious authority (appointed by the government) is hosting a new weekly program on state-run television. Pray today for this man of influence, the role of media, and the future of Tunisia—that God’s Kingdom would come.

Tuesday 11 June 2013

extraordinary prayer

God Most High, let communion with You in prayer together be a growing, uniting force among all Your people in Tunisia. Bring them together often at Your throne of grace.

Monday 10 June 2013

pray Matt. 28:18-20

“After you read this, pray for Tunisia as the Spirit leads you: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Wednesday 5 June 2013

whole world

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, ...” (Jesus—John 3:16).  Muslims believe that Jesus was sent only to and for the Jewish people, not for the entire world. Father, in Your love destroy these strongholds of thought in Tunisia that prevent the people from even seeking to understand the truth of Jesus’ identity and message.

rapid reproduction

For the sake of over 10.5 million Muslims not knowing or receiving Jesus as Lord, we long for the rapid reproduction of disciples to spread across Tunisia. So for the sake of the multitudes.  Father, we cry out for patient, persistent, focused laborers who will invest deeply now for broad impact later.

Monday 3 June 2013

run

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1). Father, may Your church in Tunisia be a place where love reigns and where brothers and sisters help each other to throw off the weights and sins that keep them from running well.

“He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure” (Psalm 40:2). Hallelujah that many Tunisians can sing this truth today!

seekers+

As more Tunisians seek to understand the message of the Bible, Lord, create environments and opportunities where these seekers will invite others in their social networks to explore with them—that groups would seek and find together!

Wednesday 29 May 2013

history

As the summer tourist season begins in Tunisia, we pray for a successful year economically, but we also ask, Father, that Christian tourists would be quick to share with Tunisians what You have done in their lives.

authority of God’s Word

Sadly, there remain isolated believers in Tunisia without a church family. While praying for these Christians to multiply and find fellowship, let’s specifically pray today that they would have a growing relationship with God by feeding upon His Word as the authority in their lives.

Monday 27 May 2013

history

In the first centuries after Christ, the church was strong in Tunisia. “O Lord, I have heard the report of You, and Your work, O Lord, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.” (Habakkuk 3:2).

“Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth!” (Psalm 96:9). We worship You, Lord, in Your holiness. You are enthroned over Tunisia today. Let all the earth tremble before You.

Friday 24 May 2013

obedience

As Christians in Tunisia open their Bibles this weekend, Father, we pray for a growing desire to follow You and not just learn about You. We’re asking for obedience, not just knowledge. Come, Lord.

Wednesday 22 May 2013

touching hearts

Hamdi decided that he was no longer a Muslim. After being told about the Gospel by a friend, he was introduced to Christians who invited him to attend their small church fellowship. God touched his heart. There was something very different about these people. Hamdi continued visiting these new friends and studying the Bible until eventually he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. Pray for Hamdi and those like him in Tunisia.

Tuesday 21 May 2013

cell/house church networks

It’s estimated that there is one Christian for every 10,000+ Muslims in Tunisia. Let’s pray that before the year 2020 that there would be two (or more) healthy house churches for every 10,000 people in Tunisia. Change the stats by changing lives, Jesus!

ask

Jesus told his followers, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13). Lord, give Your people in Tunisia this faith to ask so that You will be glorified in Jesus throughout the land.

united

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). We pray for glad-hearted, gospel-rooted, Word-embracing unity among believers in Tunisia. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Wednesday 15 May 2013

faithfulness

Though adultery is forbidden in Islam, many Tunisian men have a girlfriend in addition to their wives. Pray that the message of Jesus dying for His Bride would transform hearts and redeem marriages throughout Tunisia.
