powerful Word

God's holy Word has been powerfully transformational in the lives of Tunisians seeking real truth. Pray for "Esma" and others who are eager to really know what is true, and eager to hear from God through the Bible. Pray that God will reveal and confirm Jesus' identity in their hearts.

Tuesday 28 February 2012

reproducible Gospel

Father, we pray that You would give Christians in Tunisia an ability to clearly and simply present the Gospel. We ask that as people hear the Good News, they would turn right around and share what they just learned with others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

worthy religion

Lord, you say that, “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless” (James 1:26). We pray that Tunisians would not be deceived in their hearts or follow worthless religion, but know and be transformed by the life-changing truth and Person of Jesus.

can’t take it for granted

[Note: read before agreeing--a good habit for any group prayer]

While I am thankful for living in a country where I worship without persecution (for the most part), Father, I praise You that in Tunisia there is a high cost for following Jesus. This is a biblical reality and I know that it is the soil in which Your Church will grow and Your Word will spread. Let it be, LORD. Hallelujah!

Friday 24 February 2012

out of darkness

The practice of folk Islam produces strongholds of spiritual darkness and oppression. We pray that the power of Jesus over darkness is clearly seen in Tunisia, and also that when Tunisians turn to Christ there would be a clear break with the things of their past.

Wednesday 22 February 2012

more than a conqueror

Since the time "Amin" placed his faith in Christ, he has faced persecution, beatings, and harassment. After traveling a great distance to participate in a Christian worship service he commented about how much he felt the love of God. Pray that Amin’s life would be a powerful testimony of Romans 8, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution...? No, in all these things we are more than conquerers”.

Tuesday 21 February 2012

protests and persistence

Many Tunisians continue to protest outside of government buildings desiring to be heard by the newly formed government. Pray that Tunisians would see that their hope is not in democracy, government, economic policies, or Islam. Pray that they would find Jesus to be the only one worthy of their hope.

Monday 20 February 2012

Cornelius in Tunisia

God, we pray for Cornelius-like (responsible, upright, God-fearing, respected) Tunisians to encounter you and your church (based on Acts 10:21-22)!

Saturday 18 February 2012

praising my Joy

If you agree with these words, pray them out loud: “Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling! Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise You with the lyre, O God, my God” (Psalm 43:3,4).

Friday 17 February 2012

30,000+ for the 10,000,000

Today is February 17th. Praise God for raising up more than 30,000 people to intercede on behalf of Tunisians. Pray for God to move in power as He responds to the cries of His people.

Wednesday 15 February 2012

prayer for Moufid

Today we pray together for Moufid, a Tunisian who placed his faith in Jesus after getting access first to Biblical history drawings and then to a full Bible. He followed Jesus for a year and a half before he met another believer. The peace he found in Jesus and daily reading the Bible have sustained him. We pray for his faith to grow, for others in his village to come to know Christ, and for a home fellowship to begin.

Tuesday 14 February 2012

Disciple-Making Disciples

Father, may you raise up believers in every city who boldly share the things they are learning from your word with others. May they lead Bible studies, prayer groups, and house churches from the overflow of your Living Water running in and through them.

Monday 13 February 2012

honoring prophets

"To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name" (Acts 10:43). Lord, may Tunisia truly honor all your prophets.

Saturday 11 February 2012

"nesting near You"

“Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.” (Psalm 84:3). Thank You, Jesus, that You consider us more valuable than many sparrows (Matthew 10:31). Thank You that You welcome us into Your Presence!

Friday 10 February 2012

"parables, proverbs, stories "

Let’s agree together today that God would anoint His people in Tunisia with deep insight into the hearts of the Tunisian people so that they might discover powerful images, stories, and proverbs that would convey Gospel truths in this culture and season.

Wednesday 8 February 2012

“Praise God!”

“Praise God!” is a very common phrase in Tunisia. There is a strong sense that God is responsible for all blessings (and challenges) in their lives and that He should be honored, though they have a fatalistic, legalistic view of God that keeps them from the reality of enjoying God Himself. Pray for Tunisians to have a transformed, joy-filled view of worshiping God for who He is. They were made to know and worship Him!

Tuesday 7 February 2012

"welcome and welcoming"

A common characteristic in the successful and healthy multiplication of churches worldwide has been the rapid incorporation of new believers into church fellowship. In Tunisia the enemy creates fear and suspicion to prevent this from happening well. Let’s agree together today for a Gospel-birthed love that destroys fear in the hearts of believers and soon-to-be believers in Tunisia.

Monday 6 February 2012

"power and wisdom"

“For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles” (1 Corinthians 1:22,23). To Muslims, the Cross of Christ is both a stumbling block and folly. Why would God allow His faithful prophet to be tortured and killed? Lord, I plead that You would open the eyes of Tunisians to see the Cross of Jesus as Your power and Your wisdom, for Your glory and their good forever.

Saturday 4 February 2012

"yes, He reigns indeed"

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness...Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns!’" (1 Chronicles 16:29-31).

Friday 3 February 2012

"how about you? "

The Bible, history, and current events prove that the advance of the Gospel is not without suffering. What are you willing to risk for the sake of God’s Kingdom coming in your life, your home, your community, in Tunisia, to the ends of the earth? Take moment to consider this before Your God, Your King, Your Father.

Wednesday 1 February 2012

new brother!

Praise God for our new brother! For a few months many have been praying for "Moktar." He had been feeling a lack of peace and knew that there had to be a better way. A friend gave him a video containing testimonies of Muslims who found new life in Jesus. He watched and became convinced of the truth of Jesus. He surrendered his life to Christ and told his best friend about his decision. Pray that he continues to grow and that he will be connected with another believer in order to start a house church.
