white like paint

“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool” (Isaiah 1:18). In Tunisia all buildings are constructed with red bricks and then the outside, cemented surface is painted bright white. They even call it “whiting” a building. Pray that Tunisians could see this imagery, realize the depth of their sin, and understand the “whiting” power of Jesus’ blood.

faithful and true

Father, Jesus is the faithful and true Witness (Revelation 3:14). I ask that Tunisians will believe and obey what Your Son has taught.

Sidi Bou Zid: interceding for Tunisian states (governorates)

This state in central Tunisia suffers from a lagging economy with much unemployment. Pray for the truth of the Gospel to reach these 400,000 people through the internet, through dreams, and through other Christians, and pray for home fellowships to be started this year.

revolution effects

“Makrem” has found people to be more open to talking about different religions since the revolution, and has a desire to read the Bible and learn about Christianity. Pray for him, and many others who have open minds and a newfound freedom to investigate beliefs other than Islam, to have access to God’s Word and to be pierced to the heart as they read it.

more “sons of encouragement”

“And when [Saul/Paul] had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles…” (Acts 9:26-27a). Father, raise up Barnabas-like hearts among Tunisian believers who will be quick to encourage and empower new believers into Your church.

eyes to see

Holy Spirit, I pray that You would humble Tunisians so that they see their need of Jesus Christ. “For you save a humble people, but the haughty eyes you bring down” (Psalm 18:27).

Sfax: interceding for Tunisian states (governorates)

Nearly 1 million people call Sfax “home,” and among those are a small number of believers. Father, have mercy on the inhabitants of Sfax to open their eyes to the truth of salvation in Jesus. May your kingdom come and advance in this place.

God: “I am...I will...”

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Praise You, O LORD, for Your matchless promises, comfort, and nearness in the lives of Your children, near and far!

bringing believers together

Many Christians in Tunisia don’t know any other believers, despite the fact that there may be other Christians in their city. Pray that these isolated believers would be connected to others in their area. Pray that they would start to meet together and that house churches would form.

tomorrow?

In the aftermath of October’s elections, Tunisia waits to see what will happen in the days ahead. In such times of significant uncertainty and transition, the Gospel has incredible potential to touch lives. LORD, let these days be a profound season when Tunisians turn from false hopes to the living hope that is only in Jesus.

passion fire

“For if I preach the Gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). LORD, ignite the flame of faith, joy, and passion in the truth of Jesus that cannot help but speak out. Let this flame spread like fire to and beyond the farthest borders of Tunisia.

help in trial

Father, minister to Tunisian Christians as they face great difficulties. "…an angel… said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul'" (Acts 27:23).
