the heart

O Lord, we honor You that Yours is the heart that conceived the very existence of Tunisians—their culture, their language, their appearances. We rejoice that You labor for their redemption in Your love. Praise You, Lord.

on trial

“And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit” (Mark 13:11). Lord, as Your children in Tunisia stand before Muslims everyday, we pray that their love would abound, that their fear would be overcome, and that their words would be from You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

family harvest

"Khadijah" and her daughter are both drawn to the personality of Jesus. The more that Khadijah learns about Him, the more impressed she is by the peace He offers. Please pray that this mother and daughter would put their faith in Jesus and would become the first fruits of an even greater harvest in their family.

Tuesday 27 March 2012

lay leadership

Sovereign God, we ask in Jesus’ name that You would raise up Christian leaders from and for all sectors of Tunisian society—teachers, politicians, street workers, police, farmers, athletes, housewives, judges, shepherds, …

Monday 26 March 2012

a prophetic word

“A voice cries: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken’” (Isaiah 40:3-5). Let it be in Tunisia, Lord!

Saturday 24 March 2012

sing & tell

“Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and He is to be held in awe above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His place” (1 Chronicles 16:23-27).

Friday 23 March 2012

highways to Him

“Blessed are those whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion” (Psalm 84:5). By the power of Your Holy Spirit, Lord, nurture Tunisian believers to have hearts that run quickly to You in all things.

Wednesday 21 March 2012

another brother

God, we praise You for Your work in “Kamel’s” life to bring him to faith in Christ. We pray for him as he boldly testifies of his faith, though he doesn't yet have "all the answers." May he be an example to many other Christians of bold faith and fruitfulness!

Tuesday 20 March 2012

mighty worship

“And David and all Israel were rejoicing before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets” (1 Chronicles 13:8). While being humbled by Your holiness, Lord, may Tunisian believers live out passionate worship from their hearts before You, using their own language and cultural expressions of celebration.

Monday 19 March 2012

woe to me if...

“For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16b). O Lord, give this apostolic call to many in Tunisia.

Friday 16 March 2012

simplicity

Father, in Jesus’ name, we pray that You would give Your Bride in Tunisia a biblically complete yet profoundly reproducible model of fellowship that would honor You, change lives, and penetrate social barriers.

Wednesday 14 March 2012

On March 20, 1956 Tunisia gained independence from France and began taking steps toward forming a republic. Father, even as we consider the political situation in Tunisia today, we plead with You again to give true freedom to these people—the freedom that flows from knowing Your grace and glory in Jesus.

Tuesday 13 March 2012

unique to Tunisia

Lord, You are the Author and Architect of the human identity displayed in various forms throughout the world. Such identity is ultimately made complete in You. We agree together today that You would fan into flame the gift of faith and its diverse expressions in Tunisia to uniquely and powerfully manifest Your glory—the reflection of Your Light that is uniquely Tunisian.

Monday 12 March 2012

glory in Tunisia

“Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land” (Psalm 85:8,9). Oh, that Your glory would fill Tunisia, Lord. Let Your saints hear Your voice and follow You. Let those who fear You come to You and display Your beauty in the land.

Saturday 10 March 2012

into the fields

Father, we rejoice that Your people are going to many cities in Tunisia with the good news of Christ. Thank you for sending laborers into your harvest field. We praise You, Lord of the harvest!

Friday 9 March 2012

the strength of mercy

Jesus replied to the religious leaders of his day: “Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners” (Matthew 9:13). O God, transform the hearts of religious leaders in Tunisia to behold the power of mercy. May they not see it as weakness or dishonor, I pray.

Wednesday 7 March 2012

true love

Lord, we lift up to You the many women, such as “Salha,” who reject Islam because love is absent, and are eager to know about Jesus. Show them Your great love for them through Your word, through dreams and visions, and through Your people in their lives. Bring them into Your kingdom!

Tuesday 6 March 2012

“we will go”

“And they answered Joshua, ‘All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.’” (Joshua 1:16).  Despite having acquired their promised inheritance from the Lord, some of the tribes of Israel crossed the Jordan to help their brothers find rest and spread God’s fame in new territories. Father, may many Tunisians who have found rest in you obediently and boldly go to unreached places to share your love with others who have never heard.

Monday 5 March 2012

preaching to yourself

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God” (Psalm 43:5). Father, as many Tunisian believers face incredible challenges, we agree together that they would grow in their ability to proclaim Your truth and promises to themselves.

Saturday 3 March 2012

who can fathom?

“Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Who can...declare all His praise?” (Psalm 106:1,2).

Friday 2 March 2012

think tunisian

This past fall there were signs advertising a local soda that said “Think Tounsi,” which means “Think Tunisian.” In order for a church multiplication movement to take place in this nation, it will have to be work God’s unique “Tunisian” work—not American, not Latin, not European, not even Middle Eastern. Let’s pray together today for the Spirit’s creative work to transform the spiritual fabric of this land.
