marriage concerns

Father, we pray for “Lana,” who put her faith in Jesus last month and is fearful that she will not be able to find a Christian husband. We know this concern over finding a spouse is justifiably present among many new believers, and we pray that you would bring believing men and women together in marriage, creating many Christian families in Tunisia.

willing to die

God, may your Church be not only willing to be imprisoned, but to die for the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 21:13).

Monday 28 May 2012

seek first His righteousness

“Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him and make His footsteps a way” (Psalm 85:10-13). Lord, let Your footsteps come to Tunisia. Come!

Saturday 26 May 2012

He Will

Father, we praise and trust You together today that You will fulfill your purposes for the nation and people of Tunisia, that your steadfast love endures forever, and that You will not abandon the work of Your hands (Psalm 138:8).

Friday 25 May 2012

today

Heavenly Father, be the author of powerful experiences, encounters, and circumstances in the lives of Tunisians today that will be a part of personal testimony for years to come

Wednesday 23 May 2012

new believer

We rejoice in “Kamel’s” new birth and hunger for your Word, driving him to read 3-4 hours a day from the Bible. May this hunger for Your truth and presence grow among all Tunisian believers, and we ask that you would meet and transform them as they seek you.

Tuesday 22 May 2012

quick to go

"And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go…" (Acts 16:10).  Father, we pray for a church that is quick to obey.

Monday 21 May 2012

faith-filled action

"Be of good courage, and let us be courageous for our people, and for the cities of our God, and may the Lord do what seems good to Him” (2 Samuel 10:12). When the enemy armies had God’s people surrounded, Joab called his men to valiant battle in the high cause of God, not knowing the outcome. Father, in light of Your greater plan and regardless of the enemy’s apparent strength, may Tunisian believers entrust the outcome to You as they labor courageously for You. [See the text to know what happened with Joab’s men.]

Saturday 19 May 2012

convinced and growing

“… our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction” (1 Thessalonians 1:5). Lord, we rejoice in You that this is the true for many in Tunisia. More, Lord!

Friday 18 May 2012

rest in Thee

“Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in Thee.” St. Augustine, who spent several years in present-day Tunisia, penned these words about four centuries after Christ. Father, give this true rest to many Tunisians this year.

Wednesday 16 May 2012

ministry of education

Tunisia is considered an Islamic state. Throughout their public education students are taught about Islam and how it is different from and superior to other religions. Lord, we pray today for the Ministry of Education, for the teachers, and for the students of Tunisia to know and faithfully communicate the truth of Jesus, even if they reject it. May it prove to be Your power and love, and not a stumbling block.

Tuesday 15 May 2012

lay leadership

In the book of Acts we see that the Holy Spirit made men overseers over God’s flock (20:28). It was not determined by education, profession, or title. Mighty God, from whatever spheres You choose, appoint national, lay leaders to keep faithful watch over Your children in Tunisia.

Monday 14 May 2012

expose hearts

"And when [the Helper] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8). Father, the time is ripe, let Your Spirit awaken Tunisian souls to their desperate need as it relates to Jesus.

Saturday 12 May 2012

Yes, Lord!

We glory in You, Father, that these are the days of Elijah in Tunisia, preparing the way of the Lord, and righteousness is being restored. Hallelujah!

Friday 11 May 2012

confirm, Lord

“And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them” (Luke 2:20). Father, woo the hearts of Tunisians who have heard the Gospel to explore these truths. Oh, that they, like the shepherds, would glory in finding Your grace confirmed, “as it had been told them” in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Wednesday 9 May 2012

sisters

Reem and her sister have both met Jesus in a vision. This encounter gave them a deep desire to learn more about Him. They just received a Bible--pray that the precious words of Jesus would come alive to them and that they would surrender their lives to Him at the same time, being the first fruits of an even greater harvest in their family.

Tuesday 8 May 2012

on-the-job leadership training

Almighty God, go before Your Tunisian disciples this summer that they would find themselves engaging in spiritual growth and leadership opportunities that will lay a foundation for the multiplication of Your Bride throughout this land.

Monday 7 May 2012

a burning fire within

“If I say, ‘I will not mention Him, or speak any more in His name,’ there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot” (Jeremiah 20:9). O Father, give this passion to Your people in Tunisia!

Sunday 6 May 2012

Saturday 5 May 2012

the Helper

“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you” (John 16:7). We praise You, Lord, that You never leave Your disciples helpless. We rejoice that, though our brothers and sisters in Tunisia cannot see You, Your Spirit is their Helper today.

Friday 4 May 2012

can’t wait to tell

Father, make this the collective cry of the Tunisian Church: “Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him; sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works!” (1 Chronicles 16:8,9).

Wednesday 2 May 2012

from their lips

When a local believer was asked how one could pray for him and the national church, he replied, “Wisdom and courage.” Let’s do just that today.

Tuesday 1 May 2012

Labor Day

Jesus told those who were following him, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom He has sent” (John 6:29). Today is Labor Day in Tunisia. Pray that many Tunisians would labor for this food that endures to eternal life (v.27).
